CHALLENGES
St. Luke’s Health System has more than 18,000 employees across 10 medical centers and over 200 clinics. After a network outage affected 15 clinics for more than 24 hours, it wanted to move away from a hub and spoke design with single failure points to a distributed architecture with greater reliability and flexibility.
REQUIREMENTS
St. Luke’s needed a solution that could meet the stringent security, speed, and reliability targets required by healthcare providers. It also needed to increase redundancy and streamline access to cloud applications without adding complexity—and to achieve all of this while containing costs.
SOLUTION
Prisma SASE gives St. Luke’s secure and redundant wide area transport between remote sites, including medical centers, clinics, and administrative offices. It automatically balances loads across redundant connections and provides a secure connection to cloud-based solutions. With enhanced visibility, it also simplifies investigation of network anomalies.
BENEFITS
With Prisma SASE, St. Luke’s is able to provide secure, timely, and reliable communications that enable employees to improve the health of people in the communities it serves. It also improved access to remote work and telemedicine during the pandemic. St. Luke’s IT department now has greater visibility into network operations, while Prisma SASE manages many functions automatically.
